2017 Jacksonville, FL OHWOW Baseball Umpire Clinic a Success

Thank you to all the Participants, Supporters, Sponsors and Instructors

The 2017 OHWOW Baseball Umpire Clinic in Jacksonville, FL was a success! The clinic was available for Free to any active duty or retired servicemember and their families. The idea is to train the participants the fundamentals of baseball umpiring, so they could begin a new vocation that would provide another source of income as well as get them involved in the local youth sports community. The majority of our participants had a sports background, but never officiated. For all, it was an eye opening experience to see the sport from what we like to say, "the other side of the ball."

It was a lot of fun to work with these amazing people and are more than grateful to be a part of their new journey into the sports officiating community. We welcome all participants into the officiating fraternity and brotherhood and we look forward to seeing their skill sets improve while reaching new levels in baseball umpiring.

We appreciate the San Jose Athletic Association for allowing us to use their baseball complex and the Jacksonville Umpires Association assisting with the instruction. Many great partners helped to provide meals for our participants and instructors. We would like to say thank you to Millers's Ale House, Jimmy Johns, Chicken Salad Chick, and Mellow Mushroom for keeping our participants and instructors fed.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to give back to those military personnel and veterans that were able to attend. All participants were very appreciative of this great program. It was with the help of all our wonderful donors and amazing participants that our event was so successful!

Thank you to all that gave to our amazing cause. If you want to help by giving to our organization, you can find a donate button on our home page. Also, if you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to us at info@officialshelpingwarriors.org

Be on the lookout for a new baseball umpire working at your youth complex in the spring.
